We specialize in technical assistance and training to help design and build customized sustainable energy solutions. We have extensive experience working with American Indian and Alaska Native communities but are eager to help build capacity with any community or organization. We make it easy.
If you are not in a position to build capacity, we also provide consulting services for strategic energy planning, renewable resource assessments and energy efficiency measures, including energy auditing.

About Us
Mike Stevenson is the Founder of Resilient Energy Solutions. Mike has a proven track record of helping Tribes pursue their vision of energy sovereignty for more than a decade. Most recently he served as the Lead Engineer for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Indian Energy and oversaw all the technical assistance the Office provided to Indian Tribes; Alaska Native villages, and Tribal and intertribal organizations. Duty stationed in Golden, CO, he had the pleasure of serving with the Office of Indian Energy since May 2021.
Prior to joining the team at DOE, Mike spent the previous six years with the Department of the Interior as an Electrical Engineer for the Division of Energy and Mineral Development (DEMD), an energy office under the Bureau of Indian Affairs. While with the DEMD, Mike helped Tribes explore both energy resource and capacity development by providing technical assistance and
administering financial assistance through the DEMD’s two grant programs. Many of the projects that Mike was associated with involved Tribes assessing the feasibility of forming their own tribal utility authority or assessing the potential for microgrid deployment.
Before joining the DEMD, Mike spent 15 years working in private industry, gaining valuable experience in workforce development and management, project management, and process optimization. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado and a master’s degree in Infrastructure Planning and Management from the University of Washington.
